Solubility It is recommended to add 200µl deionized water to prepare a working stock solution of approximately 0.5mg/ml and let the lyophilized pellet dissolve completely.MIF T.Vaginalis is not sterile! Please filter the product by an appropriate sterile filter before using it in the cell culture.
Stability Store lyophilized protein at -20°C . Aliquot the product after reconstitution to avoid repeated freezing/thawing cycles. Reconstituted protein can be stored at 4°C for a limited period of time; it does not show any change after two weeks at 4°C .
Formulation MIF T.Vaginalis filtered (0.4 µm) and lyophilized from 0.5mg/ml solution in 20 mM Tris buffer and 50 mM NaCl, pH 7.5.

Introduction

The cytokine Macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) has been identified to be secreted by the pituitary gland and the monocyte/macrophage and to play an important role in endotoxic shock. MIF has the unique property of being released from macrophages and T cells in response to physiological concentrations of glucocorticoids. The secretion of MIF is tightly regulated and decreases at high, anti-inflammatory steroid concentration.
