Stability | Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. | ||
Formulation | GNB3 protein solution (0.5mg/ml) containing 20mM Tris-HClbuffer (pH8.0), 10% glycerol and 0.4M Urea. |
GNB3belongs to the WD repeat G protein beta family. GNB3 is an important regulatorof alpha subunit, as well as of certain signal transduction receptor and effector.A single-nucleotide polymorphism (C825T) in GNB3 is linked with essentialhypertension and obesity. In addition, this polymorphism is also linked withthe occurrence of the splice variant GNB3-s, which seems to have increasedactivity. GNB3-s is an example of alternative splicing caused by a nucleotidechange outside of the splice donor and acceptor sites. Further splice variantsmay exist for GNB3, however they have not been fully described. Among thediseases associated with GNB3 are syncope, and aortic coarctation.
