N-decanoyl-L-Homoserine lactone is a small diffusible signaling molecule involved in quorum sensing, thereby controlling gene expression and affecting cellular metabolism [1]. N-decanoyl-L-Homoserine lactone can affect the root structure of Arabidopsis, inhibiting the growth of the main root and stimulating the formation of lateral roots[2]. N-decanoyl-L-Homoserine lactone stimulates spore germination of Galactomyces geotrichum by transboundary interaction[3]. N-decanoyl-L-Homoserine lactone can be used as a reference substance to develop new gas chromatography-mass spectrometry detection methods for identifying related compounds[4].
