Glycerol phosphate oxidase(BR,10units/mg solid) is a flavin oxidase that uses sn-glycerol-3-phosphate as a substrate and catalyzes its production of DHAP and H₂O₂ [1]. Glycerol phosphate oxidase converts glycerol-3-phosphate into dihydroxyacetone phosphate and produces hydrogen peroxide, which is essential for energy production and balanced redox signaling in cells [2]. Glycerol phosphate oxidase [3]: At pH 6.5 and 37℃, the amount of enzyme required to oxidize 1 micromole of L-α-glycerophosphate per minute is one unit of activity. The molecular weight of the enzyme is 67kDa (determined by SDS-PAGE) and the isoelectric point is 4.6. The optimum pH is 6.0 and the optimum reaction temperature is 45-55℃. It is stable for 20 hours in the pH 5.0-8.0 range at 25℃ and its thermal stability is below 40℃ (15 minutes at pH 6.5). The enzyme is affected by a variety of inhibitors, including Cu²⁺, Fe³⁺, Zn²⁺, EDTA, Proclin, and SDS.
