Corymbiferin is one of active constituents, responsible for anti-diabetic properties. Corymbiferin improves antioxidant capacity and carbohydrate metabolism in diabetic rats, along with the improvement of histopathology of livers and pancreatic β cells[1]. In Vivo, The treatment with Corymbiferin (40 mg/kg; p.o.; male Wistar rats,) reduces the FBG level significantly, similar to the effect of positive metformin on the diabetic rats[1]. Corymbiferin (400 mg/kg; p.o.) also significantly reduces the blood glucose and shows a similar effect to metformin on oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT)[1].
