产品描述

Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate is an anionic surfactant.1 It increases proliferation of isolated chicken peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) when used at concentrations ranging from 62.5 to 500 µg/ml.2 Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (1, 2, and 4 mg/kg) increases the blood CD4+ to CD8+ T cell ratio induced by a Newcastle disease virus vaccine in chickens. Formulations containing sodium lauryl sulfoacetate have been used as surfactants in the manufacture of cosmetics.

Research Update

The immune enhancement of Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate in chickens

Vet Med Int 2010;2010:485060.PMID:20454644DOI:10.4061/2010/485060.

The purpose of this study is to investigate feasibility of Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLS) as an immunoadjuvant in chickens. After treating with 62.5, 125, 250, or 500 mug/mL SLS in vitro, lymphocyte proliferation assay of chicken peripheral blood mononuclear cells showed that the OD(570) values of all experimental groups, as well as Con A-stimulated group, were significantly higher than that of the untreated control group. After injection with 1.0, 2.0, or 4.0 mg/kg of SLS for 3 consecutive days, chickens were vaccinated with an attenuated vaccine against Newcastle disease virus (NDV), and the immunoadjuvant effects of SLS were evaluated on the basis of immune organ index, antibody response, and CD(4) (+)/CD(8) (+) T-cell ratio. The results confirmed that SLS could enhance NDV-specific antibody response and increase CD(4) (+)/CD(8) (+) T-cell ratio in vivo. Furthermore, SLS could improve NDV-specific antibody response in thiamphenicol-treated chickens. These data indicate that SLS not only can improve humoral immune response but also reverse the immunosuppressive effect of thiamphenicol in chickens.

Effectiveness of Acupuncture for Management in a Hospitalized Geriatric Patient with Constipation

Med Acupunct 2020 Apr 1;32(2):116-120.PMID:32351665DOI:10.1089/acu.2019.1401.

Background: Constipation is a gastrointestinal problem commonly found in clinical practice. The prevalence increases with age. Chronic constipation is associated with a decrease in patients' quality of life (QoL). Existing treatments cause side-effects and the positives effects are only short-term. Recently, acupuncture has been widely used to treat geriatric problems, and one of the problems being addressed is constipation. Case: An 85-year-old female, with hip fractures, had episodes of being unable to defecate and had stomach pain that was persistent due to this constipation. She was admitted to the hospital for her fractures, where manual acupuncture was used to treat her constipation. Results: The therapy was effective for relieving the patient's stomach pain and constipation, and increased the patient's appetite as well as improving her QoL. Conclusions: Stomach pain in geriatric patients with constipation can lead to difficulty in sleeping, loss of appetite, and persistent pain in the stomach. Constipation can be assessed by using posterior anterior and oblique views of the abdominal radiographic projection. Numerous modalities, including pharmacologic therapy (Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate enema and lactulose syrup), have been used to treat constipation-related pain. Recently, acupuncture has also been used to treat stomach pain in geriatric patients with constipation. Acupuncture was effective for relieving the current patient's pain and constipation and also improved her QoL.
